Researchers in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences participate in research activities or coordinate projects at the international, national, and local levels.
Our research encompasses both basic research and the advancement of scientific knowledge, as well as applied research for the sustainable management of natural resources or the conservation of biodiversity. Some of our projects also directly impact civil society or segments of it, through the development of informational or educational initiatives aimed at raising awareness among professionals and citizens.
Our research products are publications in national and international scientific journals and in specialized editorial series.
The Department is open to visits by colleagues from around the world, of all genders and ages, and is a place where the advancement of scientific knowledge combines with respect for equal opportunities and the development of a collaborative spirit.
