Research activities

Researchers in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences participate in research activities or coordinate projects on an international, national and local scale.

Our research covers both basic research and the advancement of scientific knowledge, as well as applied research into the sustainable management of natural resources or the conservation of biodiversity. Some of our projects also directly concern civil society or segments of it, through the development of information or educational actions aimed at increasing the awareness of professionals and citizens. The research products are our publications, in national and international scientific journals and within specialised publishing series. The Department is open to visits from colleagues from all over the world, of all genders and ages, and is a place where the advancement of scientific knowledge is combined with respect for equal opportunities and the development of a collaborative spirit.
