We study the plant diversity through nomenclatural and herbarium studies, morphometry, cariology, genomic and reproductive biology. Our focuses are critical groupf of the Italian flora like Hieracium (Asteraceae) and Festuca (Poaceae). We study the plant diversity with field activities in Italy and Africa, with a particular focus on Eastern Africa. Taxonomic, sistematic and distribution data are used to support assessment of the conservation status and apply conservation strategy both in situ and ex situ, in collaboration with Regional and National Park, as well as farms within protected areas.
