Research topics

1. Floodplain Hydrogeology (Po Valley)

Research on the various aquifers in the southwestern Lombardy plain, both superficial and deep, using various approaches and investigation methodologies. Qualitative and quantitative assessment of groundwater resources.

2. Fissured Hydrogeology in the Northern Apennines and Southern Alps

The research field includes both studies of sub-channel aquifers in valley floodplains and studies of hilly and mountain ridges, to identify the hydrodynamic characteristics, recharge conditions, and water quality of mountain aquifers.

3. Isotopic Hydrology (18O, D, 13C, 14C, 34S, 15N)

Application of isotopic techniques to the study, assessment, and protection of both surface and groundwater resources. Research and management of water resources, as well as assessing the impact of human activities on water quality.
