1. The Permian and Triassic continental successions of the Western and Eastern Pyrenees
The Western and Eastern Pyrenees are studied using a multidisciplinary approach from sedimentological-depositional, biostratigraphic, chronological, and paleoenvironmental-paleoclimatic perspectives. The tectonic evolution of the sedimentary basins is also explored.
2. The Lower and Middle Triassic of Sardinia in the context of the Western Tethys
Facies, biostratigraphy, and isotopes on the Triassic continental-transitional (Buntsandstein) and marine carbonate (Muschelkalk) successions in different areas of Sardinia. Regional stratigraphic comparisons, paleoenvironmental-paleoecological, and paleogeographic reconstructions in the context of the Western Tethys.
3. Geology and paleomagnetism of the Permian basins of Morocco (Meseta and High Atlas)
Stratigraphy, tectonics, and paleomagnetism of the Permian continental basins of Morocco (Meseta and High Atlas): regional-scale stratigraphic correlations and geodynamic reconstructions in the context of the transformation of Pangea.
4. Biostratigraphy of the Lower Permian successions in the Southern Alps from the Orobie Alps to the Dolomites
Biostratigraphic analyses (macro-microflora, vertebrate and invertebrate signatures), regional and global stratigraphic comparisons, paleoenvironmental-paleoclimatic, and paleogeographic reconstructions in the Lower Permian basins of the central Southern Alps (from the Orobie Alps to the Dolomites).
